Monica Zent Ms. Zent concentrates her practice in the areas of: intellectual property law and licensing, with a particular emphasis in the technology, Internet, computer software, digital media, music, entertainment, sports and consumer products industries. She has successfully negotiated a wide variety of complex transactions in these areas. Prior to founding Zent Law Group, Ms. Zent practiced in the Corporate and Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions Group with a well known global law firm. During that period, Ms. Zent represented clients such as Accenture, Bebe Stores, E*Trade, Gyricon Media (XEROX PARC), Palm, Inc., Maxtor Corporation, and Recreational Equipment International (REI) in connection with various business transactional matters. Prior to that, Ms. Zent was the Director of Business & Legal Affairs at Fox Television Studios in Los Angeles where she was responsible for overseeing all legal and business matters for the company's domestic and international (including Fox Kids Latin America and Saban Entertainment) cable television and music productions, merchandising properties and publishing interests. In addition, with her colleague and business partner, Ms. Zent launched Music Concepts Worldwide, LLC, a non-profit music marketing company releasing specialty music products designed for charitable causes. Prior to joining the Fox organization, Ms. Zent held various business and legal affairs positions with film, cable television and music publishing companies, such as MTM Enterprises, The Family Channel, and International Family Entertainment.

She remains actively involved in a variety of business, civic and charitable organizations such as the San Jose Rotary Club, San Jose-Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Digital Media Roundtable, the National Association of Women Business Owners, Commonwealth Club of California, the Churchill Club, the Computer Law Association, American Bar Association (ABA), Silicon Valley Women in Business, and Stanford Law School Institute of Science and Technology. Formerly, she served on the USC Entertainment Law Institute for three years and has devoted her time as a Pro Bono attorney to such causes as the East Palo Alto Community Law Project, Break the Cycle Battered Women's Shelter and California Lawyers for the Arts. Ms. Zent publishes a blog Legal Minute Ms. Zent is a licensed and practicing California attorney with a J.D. and Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Philosophy, with highest honors. She has completed the Executive M.B.A. Program at Stanford University and written various articles on issues of legal interest. Ms Zent is a panel presenter at legal and business industry events on topics relating to her practice specialties.
